I am contemplating getting some bar end mirror for my Bonneville. I would like to get some input on the different styles and brands. Please send your photos and your personal recommendations. Thanks.

I have a set of Napoleons that I am really happy with.

On the stock bars the visibility is night and day better then the stock mirrors.

I have also used them with the low cafe bars from NewBonneveill.com, and the visibility is great. I now use them with clubman (Ace) bars. The visibility is not as good as the previous sets of bars, but I love the way that they look.

I have had them for about a year and a half, and there is a little pitting and rust on them. If I took the time I could probably buff that right off.

Overall they get high marks for function, and higher marks for the way they look.

It may or may not make a difference to you, but they will definitely make you think twice about lane splitting.

I also have Napoleon-style bar-enders. I totally agree with Simmons, on every count. MUCH better visibility, better looks, though they tend to make the bars feel "wider" than before.

here's a pic:

Personally, I really dislike the Napoleons. I had a pair on my Monster. The plastic backing pitted very quickly, they vibrated heavily, and the rubber was never that firm in the bar so I was constantly adjusting them back to a proper position from wind and vibration.

Oh, and and they effective increase the width of the bike unless flipped inward.

Not a fan, sorry.

I have the CRG's. I've gotten a number of compliments on these. They have kind of a mechanical/industrial look to them & are well made. No vibration whatsoever.

I have the Napoleons from New Bonneville and love them. The rubber mounting dampners are superior to the other (Emgo) I have had in the past. I have not seen any plastic coating on these mirrors, whcih I have had for two years now and they look good as new. I have Bella Corse Super Bars now and they installed easily, but when I used stock bars, I drilled out the bar end weights and installed them.
Superior visability and quality.

I'm running one Napoleon on the stock bars. I re-tapped the hole in the insert that the stock end plugs screw into. Then just screwed the bolt that is supposed to expand the bung/thingy inside the bar into the welded insert instead. Rock steady. I only have one mounted 'cause hamfist here broke the tap off in the right side, doh! I don't really care for how far the Napoleons stick out when splitting lanes, but if I didn't ride traffic everyday I'd love the size, look, etc. I found the little round CRG's too small for practical riding. I think I'm going to swap to new bars soon anyway, so I probably won't dig that busted tap out of the right side...

These are superb quality billet alloy, manufactured in 3 pieces. They don't get in the way of my hands. There is absolutely no vibration. The arms can also be mounted in the ends of the bar ends if you wish. The mirrors are 50mm diameter. I can highly recommend them.

I have the Napoleons as well but if I had it to do over again (and it's only a matter of time and money really...) I'd go for those oval Rizomas. The Naps extend the clearance width further than I'd like.
