I tested the #3 coil in question and got these readings. with the ohm meter on 200 the primary is .9 and with the ohm meter set on 20K it wouldn't read the HT resistance moved it to 200K and it read 105.6K for the HT side. spec is 10.5K. coil is bad this high correct. I am experiencing popping in the #3 carb and all speed cut out on #3. also this is a 98 sprint exec. 900

You might try to take the reading again after you scrape the HT terminal the best you can. Its been observed that oxidation can build up on the HT terminal and bias your readings high...sometimes very high. The somewhat blunt tips of a meter sometimes cant adequately get through the oxidation to give you the correct reading....worth a shot.

For the primary side, 0.9 sounds a bit high. Make sure you touch your meter leads together first and note the reading...you can call this the test reading or zero reading, then proceed to test the primary of the coil. Subtract the test reading from the primary reading to give you the actual resistance of the primary.

Don't forget to check the spark plug wire too. There should be about 5k ohms resistance on the spark plug lead.
