I know that I've asked this question before, but I saw something on the Hermy's site that prompts me to ask again: Will the backrest for the Triumph Thunderbird fit on the mounting loop for a Bonneville grab rail? The T-Bird tall backrest is available by itself at a savings of $76-$84 over the Bonnie backrest (with mounting loop) on the Hermy's site. I don't really want to keep the backrest on all the time...just for longish rides with my girl, so the savings is significant to me. I have sent a query to Hermy's this evening, but I would like some advice from some of you that might have already tried this. Your help is much appreciated...the two photos are below:

I have the one that Brent sells at Newbonneville.com, much cheaper than the Triumph version and it has an integrated luggage rack.

Good quality, and very sturdy!

I'm hoping to find something that I may interchange with the grab rail that I already own...

Sheepdog, I have a pair of the "low" backrest vertical brackets and a backrest plate/pad that I'm willing to sell. They're not perfect, but they're in pretty good condition. You'll have to supply some screws and nuts, but otherwise they're good to go.

Thanks Balto. I am in discussions with Hermy's and hope to be able to purchase the back rest only. I'm wanting the taller of the two sizes, so this is my first option. I appreciate your offer and may yet give you a call...
