hi
got a bit of popping/banging on overrun ( ie engine braking) . have re-clamped all joints in exhaust and made push-ins as good as possible. recently fitted reverse cones in stead of original silencers..could this be the prob. timing is boyer and strobed at 5000 rpm. still runs fine and pulls like a train. any clues.
cheers

Nortons are very prone to this and I have been around the horn with it. Bottom line is the mixture is going lean. You cure it by cracking the slides open more so she can pull a bit more fuel on decel. Richen up idle circuit too.
