yeah yeah I love that sissy bar the height and the turn back tip is exactly what i had in mind must be standard classic design I had seen before. I want one with no back cushion support. Nice bike .
sissy bars, like that, do not normally come with cushions. I had that seat made just for that bike
The passenger/back seat was very narrow and uncomfortable. it really wasn't made for a person. I had it done so when I strapped my bag to it, I had a full backrest for me

I was single when I had it done. What can I say?

ape hangers seem to be the fad right now, so a lot of people come in asking about them. I always tell people that if your hands are above your shoulders, you do run a risk of your hands going numb. A lot of states have laws about your hands being above your shoulders, so check local laws, and that of states you may wish to travel to.

another thing. Most riders who put apes on, because they are following the fad, put them too far forward. Apes are like any other bar. You need a bend to your elbow, so you can put pressure on one side or the other, when you have to maneuver quickly

these are taller then 16 inches, but I am a fairly tall guy, so... If it helps to imagine the scale, That is the largest frame harley makes, and I "expanded" it to fit me

I did the ape hanger thing to an old Harley. Hot rodded engine, slick smooth seat and no knurling on the bars. First time I really got on it the bars folded into my lap! If there hadn't been a sissy bar I would have slid right off the back of the bike.

Great photo showing three different heights in hand position. Out of all three bikes shown your bike looks the most comfortable. Wow Lots of knowledge here thanks, great to know. So when you think they'll ban sport bike riding positions?

.

I really hope that no laws are passed to ban current sport bike riding position. Some of those sport bikes are a LOT of fun to ride

I do not have many pics of me riding. I normally either ride alone or I stay near the front if it is a group ride. not a lot of photo opps' there.
That photo was taken as as I was rolling out of a rally. to go escort the veterans memorial wall into the rally. I had the honor of leading the escort that time

I have both a detachable windshield and a dragonfly detachable fairing, to choose from, for long trips.
The mid summer heat hitting me in the chest is far worse then the wind buffeting IMO.

No offense by reviving an old thread, but I came across this one while researching BellaCorse Highlanders, Norman Hyde western bars etc.. I ended up just going for it with some TC Bros 8" mini apes and thought I would post some pictures since there didn't seem to be any of a T100 with apes (although I wouldn't consider these ape hangers since I'm 6'2). Hope it might help someone in the future.

I've been riding with a set of Highlanders from Bella Corse. While not apes they are a lot easier on the vertebrae. looking at archival photos they are about the correct profile of bars offered in the 60's and 70's on U.S. Triumphs.

Both exactly the reasons why I made the change!

When I bought my 01 Bonnie last year, the guy had put 10 or 12 inch apes on it with a windshield, said he had been riding triumphs that way since the 60's... I rode it that way for about 2 weeks... I have no problems with some1 else riding that way. While it was good on my back, I just couldn't get used to the feel of it.

Here you go. I used a different loop to tie it off to the frame as the plastic OEM one wasn't strong enough. DSCN0958.jpg

As shown all nice smooth curves and transitions. Do you have a longer cable. If not you'll have to get one.:IrelandFlag

Now I know what my America would look like,18"? Righteous exhaust too!
Thanks. 15" ape hangers and a set of generic Harley bagger turn-down mufflers that I rotated 90° and mounted with custom brackets. Loud as sin.

Now... I'll confess; I'm not an ape hanger/cruiser kind of guy. But, including myself, everyone I ever let ride that bike, came back with a huge smile on their face and commented on how much fun the bike was to ride. I occasionally get the "thumbs up" from cars around me when I ride my retro T100's. But I always got huge reactions from drivers when on the Speedy. I sold the bike years ago.

Did you have to install longer cables, wires, and lines for it? If so where did you buy them? Also was the ride a lot more comfortable for your back? I’m 5’10 and I between the 8” mini apes or the 12” ape hangers.

I have them on a scrambler, 8 inch, it's great, looks good too. you need a longer break cable , the rest was fine for me. don't worry what they say, it's your bike.
