I MAY....repeat - MAY have a line on a new 1050 header. And a Daytona header for my custom header project.

I am thinking about modifying the 1050 header:
Porting, removing presilencer (precat), interior clean up, and ceramic coating it black (and a stock midpipe).

Would anyone want to buy these parts for USD $200 (including shipping to lower 48 states - overseas would require paying additional postage) plus exchange for your stock parts? $150 USD for just modified and coated header (plus exchange). Or USD $100 for a modified uncoated header (plus exchange).

I would send them out when I recieved your stock parts and payment.

I would also highly recommend that anyone considering this have Tuneboy or a Power Commander.

Anyone interested?

This is just in the thought process, and want to see if it is worth my time to go forward. This is the quickest turn around I can come up with.

The coatings cost me between $20-50, depending on how much I use to do a header and/or midpipe.

The rest doesn't cover my time to remove the precat, weld the header back up, port it, and clean it up. It takes even more time to blast the pipes and coat them. I am just coating the outside - 2 coats.

Then there is shipping.

I just figured I would offer a few of these over the winter at my cost (actually less). The way I figure it, the faster the Speed Triples are, the better we all look.

This is not a done deal - yet. Just looking at whether it is worth my time - if there is enough interest - or not.

:lgh:

I have several modified tunes to work with this, and I am trying to talk a friend into letting me tune his bike on a dyno since I have already modified and coated his header. And my current tunes all involve intake mods as well.

I WILL have a specific tune just for this mod available if/when this becomes available. It may take a couple of weeks to get the new header and have two of them ready. I am planning on modifying them as fast as I can get them in.

I will know more on Monday.

It looks like there is enough interest to make this worthwhile - I figured maybe a max of 10 might be interested. 5-6 is about the minimum.

I HAD hoped to have the cold air kits ready by now, but the rubber trim company has sent the wrong part and I'm waiting on the correct stuff. Soon though.

Ride it on over as soon as you can buy a Tuneboy key! We can work on it as soon as it cools off.

I'll take ya for a boat ride you won't soon forget. :wow:
I had one of 'em up to 129 mph GPS with two corn fed adult males on board last week - would have gone faster but someone was squeeling like a 12 year old girl (might have been me). They only go faster as the weather and water cools down!

Oh man, you are not making this easy on me. Ok count me in. Also if I send you my tail pipe can you coat it for me? It's about 6" long and 2" in diameter. Now I gotta decide if I want to go with PCIII or Tuneboy, need to do a search on that. Let me know when I can ship the header and tail pipe to you.

later

i would be interested in it too. but is this a one shot deal? in other words, just this winter or (if it goes well) you may do this on a ongoing basis? because i probably couldn't do it this year, but next year would love to pay for this service. thanks.

Bruiser - The deal is that I have some time on my hands over the next few months. So I am going to start doing a few - If I can get my hands on a couple of spare headers (and get ahead on the deal).

BUT, if the demand is great enough, I might be able to keep this up on a more limited basis.

Sounds like a plan, Dev. I'll get it taken off and packed up for you in another week or so. I'll do some cleaning and finishing to it and my mid-pipe as well so there is less work for you. Definitely want it coated black.
