I've just gotten on my Bonnie after a few weeks of having her sit and I can't remember which noises are normal and which are new.

Imagine a bolt with a washer that isn't set tight. Now, imagine the high tapping sound the washer would make as it vibrates underneath the bolt head. That's the sound that's coming from my motor. It sounds off on acceleration, cruising, and decel.

The bike only has 1500 miles. Is this sound part of the sewing machine symphony of our blessed Bonnies, or is it something of concern?

Thanks.

That is a very good description.

That sounds to me like the normal top end valve train noise. As PAAS said on a separate thread, these bikes being air cooled are a bit louder than watercooled bikes.

I think that's OK - mine makes a sound just like you describe.

Just get some louder pipes and stop worrying about it!

Oh Yeah!

Just get some louder pipes and stop worrying about it!
I'm working on it. Saving a few dollars each day. Getting closer and closer to deciding: NH Togas or BC Togas.

If all goes well, I'll know by May.
