Been on here for awhile now. Got my 14 Speed Triple a few years ago and have been rather hooked on these bikes ever since! A friend got an 09 Daytona a year ago and let me ride it. It was then that I discovered the replacement for my CBR600. What an unbelievable concept to have torque in a track bike and not have to flog the piss out of a motor! Turn in and flick-ability are mind boggling compared to my Honda!
So this past weekend I found a 2012 675R after a 6 month long search. I only was able to test ride if for about 6 or 7 miles. It felt great aside from a near disintegrated front tire. One thing that sat in the back of my head was that the shifter took a bit of effort to go up the gears, a little more than the S3. Neutral was also quite hard to find too. Seller said the oil had been changed a month ago with Castrol 4T racing.. it looked new. Is this any cause for concern? Anyway, I'm looking forward to owning this machine and experiencing what its like at the track!

Oil is usually the big reason it gets hard to find neutral for me. I don't see why he would change it if he's actively selling it, but maybe there are still good people out there. If he had aftermarket rearsets on and then put on the stock, the connecting rod might be out of apartment as well. When I changed my Daytona from AP back to stock it would get obstructed causing mis shifts

Your pegs appear to be stock - I agree with VonEsch about some kind of mis-adjustment or mis-alignment if the oil is new. Try changing the oil first, and see what happens. That's pretty cheap insurance.

Also, how many miles are on it? It takes a little time for some Triumph transmissions to really break in. 675 transmissions are usually great right away, but my TT600 took about 8500 miles. Maybe you found on that's more like older bikes that way.

Clutch adjustment is another thing to check.

There are about 7k miles on it. It also has a quick shifter. This will be my first bike with a QS but I still can't imagine that normal shifting would take more effort with one installed. Nothing looked out of whack or alignment with the shift linkage or the QS. I have a feeling the seller left everything as is, definitely did not put on aftermarket rear sets. He said he didn't even have the suspension sag set up for his weight. Another factor was if you look above the foot controls in that photo there are a set of very badly placed mid-frame sliders. So I was kind of struggling to fit my feet between these and the shifter, it was quite annoying. I promptly removed them when I got it home. Its been a crazy week and I'm in the middle of replacing the dangerously old front tire so no seat time to further assess. I'll report back if it feels like something isn't right. Thanks for the advice, guys

Hi, Castrol 4T is semi-synthetic, not full synthetic. I would definitely ditch that for Castrol (or the like) full synthetic which is recommended for our bikes. Like Castrol Power1 etc.

Nice bike! I too just picked up a ‘13 Daytona and have only ridden it for about 30 miles. Can’t wait for the snow to go to get on it again! Ive ridden it so little I dont feel like its even my bike yet..
