I have stock Thruxton pipes on my Bonnie. I just saw a set of pipes on ebay that had the rear of the pipe cut off and the rear baffles removed.

It sounds bad, but it looked good and stated that it was a deeper sound than the stock. Does this pose a problem to anyone out there who knows more about this than I do?

I have also seen Bonnies out there that looked like they were running "straight pipes". It looked as if the silencers had just been removed. I was told that this could be a problem because there would be no back pressure. Again, does this pose a problem to anyone out there that knows more than me?

you can perform what people are calling a "bafflectomy" where you (in the thruxton pipes) grind off the back end, or use a hole saw, and remove the baffles and fiberglass junk. This is guaranteed mixed results.

If you're looking for a cheap loud high performance exhaust I'd recommend looking at JC Whitney Dunstall replicas. They're pretty cheap, look awesome, and sound pretty dang cool too.

jcline8,

There is another problem you didn't mention and that is NOISE. Those pipes are probably extremely LOUD. I have a set of D&D's that have their end caps in place, are still packed with fiberglass, and are VERY LOUD.

If you want really loud pipes that shake windows, scare little kids and little old ladies, then straight pipes are the ticket, pun intended.

Figure out exactly what you want and then spend the money and get the right set of pipes the first time. I didn't do that and I'm looking for my third set of after market pipes for my T100.

I put new exhaust on my t100 after it was run in, Made by company in Auckland New Zealand, look realy good sound very loud and spit back when takeing off in 1st, 2nd turns a few heads when over takeing.
I had to rejet and dyno to get it going really well, got an extra 10 hp.
now I have to up grade rear suspension to loose on corners or bumps in road.
if you wont the company name etc and are happy to have them shipped I recomend them.
