I fall in all the "best" categories for getting a policy on my bike. I know the variable coverages from state to state etc. from various posts, but this illustrates some interesting numbers.

I used same full coverage amounts for a 1 year request on each bike.

My 06 TBA is approximately $380.00

06 or 07 ST were the same, add $150.00

07 Tiger add $250.00

06 or 07 S3 add $320.00

06 955i Daytona add $1700.00

I like my bike more each day! I have been lusting over a black 06 Tona, but I think the Sprint-Tiger will remain at the top of my list. 2 years premium would buy a lot of exhaust, susp bits, etc. I am almost afraid to see what a new 9XX/10XX Duc or other similar bike would cost.

Wonder no more. My girlfriend's coworker is getting a 1098. Older guy. Been off bikes for a few years but really likes the looks of the new duck and couldn't resist.

Insurance is a little over $3,000/yr.

Now my Speed Triple bill doesn't look so bad.

dang Bob, that's ridiculous prices fer a Daytona. I haven't carried full coverage in a few years, but I used to have full coverage on my 99 R1 and it was about $750 a year. Who do you have yer coverage with? May be worth shopping around. Sounds like whatever company that you have, just hates sportbikes. :hammer:

Progressive is what I have the Triumph with as they were the best deal. I changed the house and cars (4) to State Farm, but the bike was cheaper left on Progressive. I own my toys, so I can carry the minimum, just always opted for full coverage.

I believe State Farm goes by engine size and not model, so I'll double check. Progressive has a good Internet tool I can use to run comparisons on easily. That is what these numbers are from. Interestingly. it also was cheaper to get coverage by a couple hundred dollars on the web site vs the local agent w/ Progressive.

I was just surprised the Daytona was that much more. They all are litre 100++ HP bikes with very little difference, +/- Tupperware.

$2-3K is a pure rip off. These bikes can't be represented in that many more crashes, just going subjectively by the posts on these boards alone.

Anyway, the rest of the Triple line is very reasonable even w/ full coverage. BTW, if anyone here sends me thousands of dollars, I will gladly give you a piece of paper to show the police that says I took thousands of your dollars in exchange for giving you a hard time and demand more of your money if you ever call me for help when your down!

Cheers, ride safe!
