I was thinking about this as it sometimes does it a dozen times befo starting. I bitched to Triumph when it was new & they told me the battery wasn't fully charged. Well after a 20 mile ride it should be.
So I thought maybe I would go go to the local Interstate battery store & buy an exact fit battery with more amps. I'm thinking that might cure my problem.
What Do you think?

It sounds like the dreaded "delayed start" syndrome that seemed to affect later bikes. There's a huge thread about it here:

My '09 was not affected by the delayed action issue, but kept in a slightly damp garage has a tendency to corrode the starter button contacts. They're bare brass and a film of verdigris develops from time to time and needs to be cleaned up:
