I'm sure that by now everyone has heard the breaking news of the death of famed floozy, Anna Nichol Smith. After collapsing in her hotel room she was rushed to the hospital and died within an hour. Unconfirmed reports have stated that the cause of death was overdose due to an injection or the swallowing of a large amount of viscous fluid of a yet undetermined substance. RIP! :lgh:

All the news outlets are treating it as if it's news. On nytimes.com, there a big photo of Anna Nichole dead (no pun intended) center with the "news" below. Off to the left, albeit in bold face, "Palestinians Announce Unity Deal."

As Mare previously mentioned one of the tragedies of this affair is the infant child whose paternity has yet to be established. This may be difficult as it is rumored that she entertained numerous suiters hiding in the woodpile and conducted herself with the morals of a barnyard animal. I sure wish she had spent some time in Joliet! :-D

When I think back to the time when she and Howard were a couple of fresh faced kids, so happily in love, it just puts a lump in my throat.

I, for one, feel sorry for her. If this was the life she chose, I doubt she was very happy with it. Who knows; maybe she was. Which would be even sadder.

I agree with hidesert, she lived a pretty hectic life. I can't imagine it was much fun for her a lot of the time.

You guys should know better to speak ill of the dead, she was a victim of her own excess. RIP

Yeah, shame on you guys.

You guys need to put things in perspective. The fantastic people you know that died in anonymity are nothing compared to the likes of Anna Nicole Smith. What could they have possibly done in their lifetimes that could rival Anna's tremendous achievements: what she did for her family, relationships, community and country.

She gave it all for us. And she did it with poise, dignity and virtue. I ask you, who here can say he or she wouldn't want their daughter to grow up to be Anna Nichol Smith? She was a beacon to us all.

Now, let us all hold hands and celebrate her life as we sing Elton John's 12th re-working of "Candle in the Wind".
