Well, my time come. A red Jag did a right turn on a bus lane without looking and we (my wife and I) crashed direct into him around a month ago.

We're fine and recovering, albeit was a bad experience for my wife as she's new on the bike world and has been less than 10 times on the bike with me, now is time to start to sort the bike out. (the bike has been write off but I'll keep as a track bike if can't put back on the roads (Cat B that I'm pushing back as the statement by the engineer is "not financially viable to fix")).

On the parts that I may need one is the right side foot rest and foot brake lever. Anyone knows which part will fit? (quite hard to find the sprint parts).

Apart from ebay, fowlers or world of triumph. you can get decent non standard footrests from all over. you will need your vin number for ordering genuine triumph stuff. here is a starter for 10

Sorry about the wreck...*bay has plenty of used parts. Bike doesn't look too bad. Fairings are hard to come by but easy to patch up. At least it was a red jag and not a prius

Was it written off just because of plastic or is there more permanent damages like a twisted frame or fork?

That said I looked for a brake pedal some time ago and ended up buying it on worldoftriumph.

AFAIR the fairing sides are not "that" expensive. The nose cone is. But you can be repaired it w/ abs cement.

Maybe use this as an opportunity to do the GT headlight and nose cone upgrade. They're usually available on ebay. I got mine for less than the cost of a new nosecone

Holy crap my man what a wreck, so glad to hear u two are doing fine And it wasn’t worse. Wish u speedy recovery! Years ago That was always my worst fear of having an accident with a passenger on the back especially with my wife when u have a mother-in-law to answer too. but she doesn’t ride anymore due to her m/s, so solo I go now days, I miss having her on my back, she loved riding with me…..FTG

Glad you guys came out ok. I don't know which year of Sprint ST that is but www.baboon.eu (ex boonstra motoren, has been my go to place for bike parts for years.) seems to have what ever you need for it and reasonable prices too.

Thank you for all the replies.

Yesterday night and today afternoon and put my hands on and managed to weld all the plastics, not that bad to be fair. I will reinforce some parts with patch and fibre glass to be safe.

Answering the questions, looks like to be only plastic damage (and the right side of the nose frame which is made of metal may need replacement).

Tomorrow I expect to get the bike on a flat and straight road to feel her.

Glad you and the missus are doing OK. Wow. Shame she had to experience something so early into her riding career. And your trying to let her experience riding with you. Hope it doesn't discourage either of you. Just glad you're healing up.

New update for you gents. Rode yesterday for a bit just to try it. Riding straight as should be. Brakes working flawless (well it’s a sprint non abs one, but they are working as should be). No major damages noticed.
Just need the brake pedal adjusted or replaced and is ready to go.
Bought some wrap as I don’t want to spend money on a paint job right now.

Those pics look so familiar. My silver 1050 looked like that after I blew a curve. (They're right. You go where you look.)

Mine was near new, so insurance paid for repairs. I kept the repaired parts and swapped out every year for winter riding. After putting 85,000 miles on it, I sold it to someone who just wanted the plastics. It was so nice, they put mine on the road and used the other, lower mileage one for parts.

Sorry for your crash! But glad you and your lady are OK.

Not a fun experience, I crashed for the first time in over 55 years of riding 2 years ago. Ruined most of the plastic which caused insurance to total it. I kept it since it was all appearance parts and I had rebuilt the engine a few months before and the shocks a little before that, so it was in near new shape mechanically. I had 125k miles on it, but they wouldn't take into account it was mechanically new, so gave me next to nothing to keep it. Oh, and I broke 6 ribs. Being fully geared up didn't provide rib protection. I had hit something slippery on a curve on a two lane mountain road at night, a road that I have commuted on for 17 years. Went off into a dirt berm and when the bike came to a fairly sudden stop, I apparently went into the tank with my side.

Sorry to hear about that. I bought some Sprint ST parts from smbikeparts on Ebay and was happy with them. Worth a look...

Hi gents, update of what I have been doing during my weekend.

Now time for the new trident exhaust and find a insurer for a cat B bike (found one so far but wondering if anyone have any tips or suggestions, so far the bike still “insured“ under the previous insurance)
