Am I the only one who thinks the Daytona boys are screwing up American racing?

I can't believe we cant watch one race live!

I just watched the second Daytona Superbike race from Atlanta, that race was what three weeks ago?

Man am I jealous of you guys in Europe and Australia.

I watched the Moto Gp live from Japan yesterday. It's great to watch live racing compared to replays where you know the result.

I'm surprised at this but as I live in the UK I wasn't aware there was a problem with TV coverage of racing in the US.
Why can't you watch live coverage - is there not a deal for coverage of events like this on Sports satellite channels? I'd have thought that there was a big enough audience for this or am wrong?

Alas, TV, you are absolutely correct. There is no live motorcycle racing available, even on satellite. NASCAR (No Authentic Sport Can Attract Rednecks) captures all the TV time. Once, just once, I would like to see how those NASCAR guys would do on a tight motorcycle course.

We dicussed this many threads ago and I'll say it again. AMA ruined it and now NASTYCAR will kill it altogather. They could care less about the enterprise as a whole or the up and comming riders. Under their format it's designed for the factorys not the privateer or the privateer teams. They will certainly kill it altogather because the factories don't want anything to do with it. Another great icon of racing gone because of greedy men and their ideals.

Cheers

Davids,
We can't watch hardly any live motorcycle racing at all. Last year we saw a few Motogp races live and the AMA races.
This year, so far, no races have been live.I will be surprised if the two motogp races here in the states will be live.

I don't mind if there just taped delayed that day, which WSB and motogp were but this new AMA Pro crap has got to go. None of the U.S. races are live or taped delayed for that day. There only shown on Sat nights and only one race at a time. There not even seen on closed circuit tv at the tracks. That means the two superbike races that Mat Maladin won was shown over two weeks.

AMA Pro is the organization that took over AMA this year and they are the Daytona Group.

AMA sold the rights to the Daytona Group. AMA no longer owns the rights to it at all nor has any connection to the Daytona Group. The Daytona Group runs NASTYCAR and they want to run the series like a NASTYCAR event.

Cheers

You fellows seem to have a raw deal with TV coverage.:(

In the UK terrestrial coverage is relatively poor but when it happens it seems reasonably timely without weeks of delay. The best coverage in UK is by Eurosport satellite channels. The Sunday just gone we had MotoGP and world superbike (all classes of each) covered live - a bike racefest with highlights repeated in the rest of the day.

Is there no way you fellows can pick up on the satellite channels via a specialist supplier - seems a shame that you miss out on domestic championships let alone world class events especially in Superbike where Spies is being really impressive battling with a rejuvenated Haga and new (to the series) young gun Haslam. Can you perhaps get coverage from the net via WSBK and Motogp websites, I think they offer TV coverage by subscription?

Anyhow hope things change for you fellows & you get a better deal in future.

Davids,

I agree! Sounds like folks in the states are really getting a raw deal! I'm an American as well, but I've been living in Europe so long, that I just kind of took it all for granted.

TVSew,

I could be wrong, but I believe that MotoGP.com might broadcast live on the 'net. But if they are, from the way things are over your way, I could see that service might be dressed based on your place on the web.

This might be another option. I would probably search the net for some sort of online free TV channels. The only trick is that because of the time differences, you might need to figure out how to record it on your PC, so that you can watch it at a more reasonable time. Either way, good luck!

Here in the USA Motogp and WSB are on a cable channel called Speed.

They show both of these but there taped delayed.

Motogp is usually shown that day and WSB race 1 is on Sun and sometimes race2, or race 2 is shown on tues. along with supersport.

I'm ok with that as the local media ignores all street bike racing and I can wait until the day its shown.

It's AMA that has screwed up the tv coverage of the American races and I have finally decided its not worth it so I'm only going to concentrate on Motogp and WSB.

Same here..... the last time I watched AMA Pro, it was 4 minutes of show, 3 minutes of commercials, 4 minutes of show, 3 minutes of commercials....on and on..... really belongs on the Home Shopping Network instead of Speed....
