You know the gearwheel in the clutch housing that drives the alternator well it appears to be made from two gearwheels sandwhiched together.

The teeth on them are out of sink.

Why is that? And does it matter?:confused:

it can only go together 1 way... do not force anything. assemble per the diagram... the washer that goes under the clutch side nut needs to be facing the correct way... look at the book diagram and you will see what i mean.

Sorry my fault, i mustn't have explained myself correctly.

Not the main drive wheel in the centre.

Not the oil pump drive wheel at the bottom.

But the alternator drive wheel at the top, the one that breaks off cos of the bolt, about two inches in diametre? This one.......

It has two sets of teeth and they're out of sink.
