I got these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=110087555834 in the mail today!! Installation starts tomorrow, but I thought I would give some teaser photos (so sweat's not the only tease around here)!

I've searched the web for an alternate, hey why didn't I think of that, clipon. After much research I decided on the SV650s as a donor, due to a slightly higher, more touring position clipon.

But lets face it, anything with a 41mm frontend will fit, this applies to a frontend swap as well:

BMW Strada 41mm
Honda CB-1 89-90 41mm
Honda CBR1000 92-96 41mm
Honda CBR600F2/F3 91-98 41mm
Honda NT650 Hawk 88-90 41mm
Honda VTR1000 98-02 41mm
Kawasaki ZX10 88-90 41mm
Kawasaki ZX6/6R 90-97 41mm
Suzuki GSX750/1100 86-87 41mm
Suzuki GSXR1100 88-97 41mm
Suzuki GSXR600 88-97 41mm
Suzuki GSXR750 88-97 41mm
Suzuki SV650 99-04 41mm
Yamaha FZR750/1000 87-88 41mm
Yamaha YZF600 94-95 41mm

However, before laying cash down for a donor frontend, do some research in regards to the length of the tubes!

Notice the price I paid for these, $350 for LSL's version, $165-$200 for Vortex or Woods, I think NOT, I believe in being cost effective on the majority of my mods I do!

Wish me luck tomorrow, I'm going in!

Greg

Don`t forget that in addition to the lengths, probably each of those has a different width at the trees, spacers, shims etc at the hubs and length/diameter of the steering stem. I hope they all fit, just waiting for someone to try it.That would be SWEET.

Rod, you are absolutely right!, I would hope modders would not waste the money on a set with triple trees, all you have to do is switch out tubes, but people need to do a little more research first berfore diving in. I put that list together to research for clipons, someone would have to follow up investigating the length of the tubes.

Sweat, yes I know, that's why I found some with the controls and are going to try and retrofit the stockers. I refuse to pay $350 for 1" bars, not when the 7/8" are cheap in comparison.

Great idea!! I never thought of the rims as well! Keep me informed on the outcome!

The install went great, I have clipons now with SV650s control switches. The hardest part was all of the soldering I had to do to mend the wiring together, instead of re-pinning the plugs I used the Triumph's harness and the zuki switches.

I have to go find a clutch lever and bolt tomorrow at the Suzuki dealership, mine were missing and the Triumph's didn't fit. After it's ridable I will go have a photo shoot.
