i've seen the airbox mod done by jasper_cs on speedfour.org

and I've decided to take it a step further

stock sized holes with markings for new hole

new hole cut

im not sure how this will affect everything, but I plan on having a an appropriately sized tube connecting it to the ram air openings.
This and I just got a k&n to go in too. I'll put this airbox on after I get my new exhaust done, then she'll probably scream for a PC3 or tuneboy and a tune

on another note, I really need a garage if anyone wants to donate one haha:

Stage 2 in the works....

i had to trim the holes a little bigger, but now the 3" to 2" couplers fit into the airbox and i can toss those tiny stock rubber connectors. now I just need to remove the old snorkels, and trimt eh 3" side of the connector to fit the bike. :)

well i was gunna say it seemed like an awsome and cheap mod, and almost worth a try, but then realized with my TT, i figured that it wouldn't matter. the inlets are only 2inch in the first place, so no matter how big the pipes are on the other end of the whole, it will only get so much air in at once, and the bigger piping might actually slow down the force from the ram air :???: but hell if it works and you can tell an actual difference in the response, let us know!

I think it would help because the tube that connects teh outer tub to the airbox has an ID of less than 2"

I figured this would be wortha try, i only paid $10 for the airbox, so i thought i'd give it a go!

I'm definitely following this thread - I've thought about doing the same thing, but was holding off modifying the intake/exhaust until I got my hands on a tuneboy...

Are you planning to put the rocket launchers back on, or just have the rubber adapter run to the holes in the frame?

Jasper said the mod to the airbox made him run lean. (read - it works)

So whats up with all those parts? Forks? Brakes? Sprockets? Exhaust? Are they stock parts? Those brakes dont look it, what are they off of? Going to have to do anything special to get them on?

I'll be interested in how you get on Fury as I've got a spare airbox somewhere in the back of my garage which I'm willing to butcher if I ever get the time
Now I've got my WB02 sorted I'll also be able to check exactly what the impact to fuelling is across the rev range :-D

Well glad to hear it worked out Fury! so if the exhaust is louder, think its running a little lean as well? thinks its something that can be adjusted with tuneboy?

test road her today omg she pulls and screams like a monster at the high rpms...low end was wobbly....i did tune the exhasut a bit more, down to 10 discs now, and she's great throughout the whole rpm range. I need some tuneboy or PC3 work, probably PC3 since no one here can tune a tuneboy....
