Wondering if if anyone out there has any pictures of (preference silver) 01-04 S3 with black painted exhaust?

Have seen all the pictures I can click on on this forum I think, mostly of the 05+s with black exhausts/frames.

However, I am wondering how much a black exhaust will "take away" from a silver 03? With a black framed bike I can see it looking just fine. With the silver frame though... I am not sure.

My thought process was to ceremic coat it this winter, however I am starting to think just the header may get done. Folks thoughts?

Keeping in mind the following cosmetic changes that will happen this winter:
LS Bar Ends, ordered these direct
Self done FE Kit
General clean up slight corrosion starting on fastening bolts(Especially the front fork bolts)
Unknown upgrade to either a Bar mounted Radar/GPS unit, or hidden in Pixie Hat
Rework and paint of the rear pegs, i.e. removing un-used portions as seen in Exhaust photo
GSXR 1k F. Brakes(Finally won an Etrash auction)/Pads, new lines MC and Levers, levers Undecided
Black "subtle" rad guards, Undecided

Anyone have pics/links?

Side view of my exhaust side as reference. I guess if no pictures I will start playing with my horrid photoshop skills.

On a silver bike I would leave it alone. I think it looks good on black bikes, or bikes with black frames (as you mentioned), but with a silver bike and frame I think it would look better as it is.

Just my $0.02. (I'd still like to see if photoshopped though).

Catenaccio ~ Thanks man

Captain_Rat ~ Yeah thats what I am thinking too, black may stick out a bit to much. I am trying to prevent having to deal with the discoloring though before it gets worse.

Anyone good with photoshop?

crashmasterd ~ no rush man! Appreciate it. I have all winter to determine what to do here. Though if its not done by spring I gunna come kick ya in the butt! :-D

xSpeed3x ~ Thanks man appreciate the pics. Now see on a black bike (frame specific) that looks killer. Good to know its holding up as well! The anti bling I missed at first glance. Good stuff! I am thinking black would be much...

Titanium or dull silver.. wonder if those would be nasty looking... or I can just get used to polishing every 3 months... blah.

Frankly I don't care for the look.

Somehow the silver frame needs the stainless exhaust.

Perhaps if the tank/fender/plastic were painted black that would work better. That's a whole different project in PS though. Just the exhaust only took me about 5 minutes.

You're welcome.

Lined up for comparison purposes Thanks to Mr Crash!

Crash!!!! My god I missed an update to my own post as it got rolled down a page!

Thanks kindly man, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I think I have to admit as well the stainless may look better. Shame though I have always had to deal with bikes with fairings and the discoloration never seemed so intense on them. Even in the last 2 months of riding I can see a large change in color, blue at the 3to1 collector, yellow front of that and yellow past it leading to can.

I will have to think long and hard on this one. Seems to take away from the *cough* "Classic" lines of the bike.

Thanks again Crash much appreciated!!!!!!
