I am looking at buying a 2001 955i for a restroration project, it seems to be a change over model, it has a double sided swing arm and the single digital clock, I thought these were fitted to a 2002 model.
Is there anyway I can find out from the Vin what generation and power output this motor has?

I thought the 2002 2nd gen Daytona was a 2001 model in the UK. The US was also a year behind when the Bonnie went to fuel injection vs the UK.

Mines a dual swing arm with a ‘Y’ registration.
which means it was from the 6 months between March 1st to September 31st 2001.

This one is a "Y" reg, apparently Triumph release the next model several months early, so a "Y" reg 2001 is actually a 2002 model... hence the confusion.
The good news is that this should have the later engine.
