Purchased a 78 T140V a while back and have been slowly working on it and have a question about the front fork stanchions. Looks like a mix and match of parts but anyway the stanchions are smooth for most of the way except for 6 or 7 inches inches they appear machined and diameter a tiny bit smaller ( I see new ones advertised on internet look same ). The machined ends are mounted through the oil seals going down into the lower fork barrels and to me I can't see how this would seal properly, wouldn't the machined part go up into the yokes up top and smooth end go down through the oil seal ?
Thanks for any advice on this question!
