Does anyone know what the numbers on these sliders refer to?
Were the slider wheel spindle recess's machined as pairs and the numbers have something to do with the pairing?

We wish ... short answer no.

Birmalloy was one of the component casting companies that supplied the British automotive industry, including Triumph. Educated guess says the codes aided casting traceability - in the event of flaws being found in castings, all from the same furnace and/or batch could be traced?
