Hi.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a '77 T140V. The main and only problem I have is that I can't get a spark.

This bike was modded by the previous owner to appear like a 60's Bonnie. He replaced the headlamp and ignition switch, and installed a Tympanium Corp. regulator/rectifier box. I should point out that he did a hack job of it, and I'm quite sure he sold the bike because he couldn't get it running after he did these mods.

I've sorted out the wiring as best I can using the wiring diagram in a Haynes manual. I get voltage to the points, the coils and the condenser. But still I get no spark.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to where the problem might be?

Thanks!

sounds like your point plate is grounded out.
Check your Black/White stripe and Black Yellow stripe wire connections.
