g'day i just grabed myself a 1976 bonny oil in frame. I was after a 650 but this will do to start with anyway. I was just wondering if the 750 motor from it will fit into a 650 frame? When i find a good one.

You can swap engines and frames from '63 to '83.

Not always easy, but it can be done. I don't think any other make or model of bike has a 20-year compatibility even close.

Furthermore, many of the engine components and cycle parts can be mixed and matched from even earlier bikes all the way back to the first swingarm models!

...and I'm talking about more that tail lights, hand grips and clutch levers.

There is a difference in the head stays after 71 because of the changes to the head bolts and rocker boxes but it's not a big show stopper. Some of the latest heads have a different angle on the intake spigots that might cause some interference with the down tube of the frame and air filters but again, not a show stopper.
