Anyone know the correct needle jet for a 928 Amal for a 70 Triumph TR25W? Parts book calls out a 622/079 but Amal lists that for a 2 stroke. Installed the 4 stroke version but have nasty burble and flat spot at mid throttle.
The "2-stroke" needle,needle-jet and jet-holder was only used pre-'69.
Manuals were a bit slow at being revised;some changes were never revised in manuals.
You should have the 4-stroke cross-drilled 106 needle-jet (0.035"cross-drilled hole). The hole where the needle fits should measure 0.106",and it probably will on a genuine Amal part.I still check the diameter;at 0.1065" it will run rich.
Your needle should have 2 scribed lines above the clip grooves.
The jet holder should have a round section protruding below the hex.
