I'm going to replace attached part shown in the photo (I have a black one on now) with the proper white one . How should I go about disconnecting the front brake cable to achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

I know that the later ones had a split in them to slip the cable in. Are you sure yours doesn't?? If not, just unhook it from the front brake lever and thread it through. You can also unhook it from the drum lever if you find that method easier.

Hi Jim,

Yes, the original white one has no slot or opening. If I go through the lever end I'll need to disconnect the brake light switch and if I go through the front wheel end I just need to know the correct procedure to adjust the front brake at the drum if necessary.
