Hi,
The engine number has been restamped
Imho, no.

it should look like the below pictures.
Imho, it does:-

. look at the "6" figures in all three photos., serif present on all of them;

. "1" figures in both your photos. ( View attachment 801657 and View attachment 801658 ) are Sans Serif; otoh, the "1" figures in View attachment 801418 are a Serif font, only the "T" is Sans Serif.

. Number restamped in the US, why would the forger go to the trouble of finding some Serif-font stamps and not use a Serif "T"?

Hth.

Regards,

Photos are great..awakening some old bones will be a thrill for sure 👍
Some sweet treasures in that foot locker spare head dual port very nice.. looks like a 16"rim laced on that rear hub.
That engine is a peach perfect lump in that early rigid frame.
Are you having bike pro build this or are you?

heres some more pictures of frame and part numbers, first is the bottom end block number, then the next 2 are the lucus tags on the magneto (so pretty sure it was the magneto setup), the frame number, transmission, and the tank i have seems to have bolt bracket holes for some coils to be there, didnt come with any in the 2 vietnam footlockers i got full of parts, ill post some more pics of the other electrical components it did come with, thanks again for the input👍/QUOTE]
Those two coils would be your cut-out and regulator you can update (If you decide to) this with a Podtronic unit will fit inside that black box once the old coil guts are removed
( If you're going 6v positive ground model 6-pe you'll need to do some generator tests)

Im having the mechanic in town check the engine and trans and electrical parts i have, possibly have him rebuild the engine too as he has more tools and experience in that avenue.
Still on the fence of weather to do it myself, purchase the tools and take the time to do it myself and risk fouling something up along the way, atleast with the mechanic the chance of the rebuild getting done properly and in a shorter amount of time is a plus, while thats away i can focus on figuring out the wiring for the final assembly, prep/paint the frame, clean the tank, prep/ paint that and polish all the chome bits till the engine etc. is completed, then i can finally get it installed and hook everything up.
Goal for the project completion is begining of summer, keeping in mind my lengthy 40+ hr a week work schedule and other projects i have in line, though i am determined to get it done
sceptical on which gasket kit to purchase as the engine is a bit of a mishmash of various years, i guess ill just choose one thats closest and hope for the best, any suggestions on how effective simple silicon gasket maker is?

Not many people offer significant warranties on classic engine builds these days. Kenny Dreer warned me, but I wouldn't listen. I offered 100% warranty for 1 year on EVERYTHING I ever built and ALWAYS paid off to the last penny on warranty claims, letting the clients pick their local or preferred shop to do the work. I only ever had to pay a couple thousand total on a half dozen claims over 13 years, and NEVER left a client waiting on it. Don't know if I was in a minority, but from what I've been able to glean over the years, I was AT LEAST in the top 20% of restoration/rebuild shops from what I gathered from dozens of forums over 15 years.

I would junk everything electrical and fuel related.
it doesn’t appear your bike is actually a chopper. Outside of tank mounts or tabs hacked off , the frame looks uncut.
the rear section being uncut triumph piece as well. Extended forks give it tge chopper look.
but I ask , whst has actually been chopped?
