I was cruising down the highway and hit a major pot hole which was quite an impact which caused the bike to behave erratically surging and the gauges would go on and off repeatedly as all the lights on the cluster also. I was able to continue for 10 miles or so but when I came to a stop it died and I haven't been able to get it going as I put the ignition on it doesn't seem to correspond well with all the functions to start up. Any ideas what I should look for?

Check that the instrument cluster connector is firmly plugged in and check that your MAP tubes haven't popped off or loosened.

Thank you for the reply. It turned out that pot hole caused the battery to break internally it would drop to zero on a load test.

Good to know. I'll file that one away into long term storage.
