Fellow Salt Flat Rats,

The BUB 2007 Motorcycle Speed Trials are scheduled for Sep 2 - Sep 6, 2007! Anyone interested in going? As the date for the event gets nearer, I'll start posting messages to see if we can get a group of Triumph riders to meet at the event. Running on the salt last September was one of the best motorcycle experiences I've done! I hope to see some of you folks there in '07. I am going for 120 MPH or better in '07!

I am definately going. Don't know how fast I will go but I just ordered some new tt pipes and an aftermarket rev limiter. Should sound nasty anyway.

When do you plan to make your reservations in Wendover?

I'm really interested in coming, as a spectator.

I'd like to hit a few golf balls on the flats...

Seriously, I have this "penciled" in...

Incidentally, the Bonneville vintage GP(an AHRMA event), will be held at Miller Motorsports park the following weekend-Sept. 7-9. Last year we had 380 vintage racers show up and had a fantastic time at this world class track. Located at Tooele, Utah, 120 miles east of the salt flats. Arrangements are being made again to have the World od Speed event at the flats sponsor a follow up salt flats run after the GP as we did last year. Cheap, good fun for anyone who does not have a tech ready bike to experience the flats! You have to see some of these roadrace bikes to believe them. Very exotic, indeed! :)  :-D

I plan on going also, probably like TBA-as a spectator although I'm a couple of years younger than Burt Monroe was when he made his first run!

DesertRunner, what days are you thinking of going/attending? What motel/casino for rooms? It would be nice if attendees from this site all ended up at same place for for bench racing/bs sessions of an evening!
I haven't done any checking on motel rooms yet but will probably start fairly soon.
Any revelant thoughts you want to share with us?

Billie and fellow Salt Flat Rats,

Since the event takes place over Labor Day Weekend. I was thinking about attending the event on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday so we can take advantage of the long weekend. I really pushed it last year and would like to take time to "smell the roses" on the way up and the way back in 07. Hotels to stay at would be Montego Bay, Peppermill and the Wendover Nugget. The rooms were big and cheap at Montego ~ $60. As the event gets closer I'll post messages enquiring about where riders are coming from, what days they are attending, etc. I really would like to see a strong Triumph presence next year. I am looking forward to coordinating a [email protected].

Hey Dimas, I've been looking online at rooms. Wendover Nugget $35 & EconoLodge $34--Super 8 $34 also.
I'm thinking I'll go with Nugget for meal deals & buffet. Being from Nv I'm kinda spoiled on casino meal deals. Haven't made resvs. yet tho---
Like you I'm thinking of arriving on Sunday & staying thru Tuesday & coming home on Wed.
Anyone else thinking like this?

Billie,

I'm thinking of staying at the Nugget also. That's where all the racers stayed last year. I like the idea of the casinos too. I'll book reservations early next year. My job is kind of in a state of flux right now so I'm waiting to see where I end up next year. Hopefully everything will smooth out so I can make solid plans.

I understand there is a koa campground just out of wendover.

My wife has shown a great interrest in going so we thought we would take our living quarter horse trailer down there for the week.

I can load my bike in the back with lots of tools for any unforeseen problems.

When I make reservations (soon) I should be able to let you all know the space number so if someone needs a place to stay, or a cold beer or someplace to work on or lock up there bikes we will have it.

Welcome Hankmarx, You've probably noticed there are several Bonnie Riders in Austin for you to catch up with. Good luck finding your Bonnie--watch the classifieds on here too. See you there!
