I am confused! I am ready for crash bars, but the touratech are back ordered. I looked on the Thunderbike site and can get them right away. Which ones do I want, and why. Thank you in advance for your help.

I love my Thunderbikes, because in case of a chrash they'll protect my legs as well, not just the bike. They are bulky, extend about 8 inches out of the bike. I love the looks, some hate it. Touartech's are sleek, hardly noticeable. Probably will protect the engine well in case of a chrash. What do you want? What's important to you? Do you want rugged looks or sleek?
When I wrecked my Honda VTX this summer, I was very glad I had massive bars. A truck forced me off a turn in the mountains and I didn't have time to ditch the bike. about 25 feet below the road level I ended up hitting a tree. If my left crashbar hadn't been there, it would have been my left knee. When I got the new bike, I set out to find the bulkiest bars there are - found the Thunderbike.

The Touratechs look way better than the Thunderbike and they work well if you drop the bike (having now dropped mine four times I can attest to that).
However they will not protect your legs as described by jaak in his post.

First off, I would like to thank all that replied. After consideration and rethinking my options, I am set on the Thunderbikes. I will order this week. :)
