This was posted on another forum. Triumph is doing very well along with some others. HD is the top dog. Honda and Kawasaki took a hit.

Total-958,293 up 0.97%-'''''''''100.00%

So after the big "5" we came in 7th with only 3% USA growth,I wonder how this next years new models will help?

Ducati slipped to 10th behind Victory losing almost 4% USA sales!

Amazing numbers and we are just a small part of the cycling world in the US, at least we are a distinction with upscale engineering and a product that not everyone has , no wonder people ask so many questions on the road when they see you!!...

And new cycles sold this year are up almost 1% [0.97%] over last year! I did my part, how about you???...

Ducati down by nearly 4%.
Now will they fire Terreblache and ditch the 999 munter.
Kawasaki down..who cares.
Katooms seem to be flying though.
Triumph should be looking at BMW as a target.Sales up only 3%.I'd guess the 1200's reliability issues are hurting.
Well done Triumph.

An approx 800 unit increase over last year is less than impressive.

When your dealing with such a small market share an 8.8% increase is easily attainable. With the great line of models Triumph has introduced, I would have expected much more.

Triumph needs to do alot more to build awareness and start selling some bikes.

Al, I agree, but you get one customer at a time as well as losing them one at a time. I'm glad for Triumph that they are in the plus column. Victory and KTM growth is very strong with such complete opposite types of offerings. I don't know the tools marketing guru's use, but it is interesting to contemplate some of the bigger percentage shifts.

I just hope the sport continues to grow and the industry can continue to stay healthy.

The interesting ones are Harley and Honda with an increase of around 19,000 bikes over the year prior.

I guess you get back what you put into it.

you do have to make a good product. the product must meet your customers' needs. HD seems to do a great public relations job and they have a lot of dealer sponsored events. there must be 6 dealers within 30 miles of my location and they have some type of event going every weekend.. i could ride with a HD group any weekend i wish. the parts and accessories are off the charts. this goes for honda too. when are the triumph dealers going to learn there is more to selling bikes than a show room.... they need to get more involved ... i love the triumph but need more organized riding and involvment.... HD is not even close to being the best bike. alot of people are lead to believe so... a motorcycle is a recreational vehicle.
