Has anyone noticed Bennelli's new Tre-K ?
I was surprised to see one at the Manchester Show yesterday.
Looks an interesting competitor to the new 1050 Tiger.
It certainly oozes style and packs an 1130 triple engine, all for £8k
I've seen some reviews and one of biggest 'against' seems to be the fuel economy (it likes a bit of 'gas' )
Otherwise a goodlooking bike with lots of potential; if and when they get 2 additional things right:
- spare parts and
- stability as a company; been bought by a chinese company ; future investements?????
Hi
I have heard and read up on the new tre-k. Its true that for a while it seemed that beneli were actually going to fold up as a company and this did cause me concern in that things could still be unstable.
Secondly the beneli tornado which is their main sports bike has had alot of reliability issues and finally italian bikes tend to be costly in terms of parts and servicing.
The tre-k does look like a great bike. I've read two reviews on it an they were rather positive but overall, i think the triumph tiger is still a better contender.
Have noticed the Tre-K, looks the part, but considering on every rideout I'm on it's always the italian bikes that break down I think I would stear clear, competition would still be between new Tiger 1050 and something austrian if I had the money....
I think it looks fantastic, makes the Tiger look plain. Not all Italian bikes break down; Aprillias have a good reputation for reliability. And its almost certain to handle.
I'm afraid that this comes from the Italian exotic coffee machine school of design. Mind you, the Italians produced the most gorgeous bike ever - the Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mark 1.......................
(well nearly as gorgeous as a Vincent Black Shadow.)
