My 07 is ready to go at the dealer but when I was inspecting the bike those shinny new exhaust pipes were burnt black. the mechanic said they were stainless steel and all those exhaust pipe, at the motor changed color is this true thanks tman :???:

The ones on my 02 are a fetching shade of copper, the colour fading as the distance from the manifold increases.
Maybe black is what you get before you polish it ?

My 07's pipes discolored as well. Straight from the dealer they were a straw color. Its deepened a little bit over time. Black sounds a little extreme.
