I just purchased a 2006 America. The backlight on the speedometer wasn’t working. We checked the fuse and it was blown. We replaced it and worked several times over a course of two days. Now it’s blown again. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

What else is powered by that fuse? A quick look indicates the 5 amp fuse (#8) powers a "position light" as well as the instruments. Not sure if that is the low power small lamp in the headlight or not. Has there been many changes from stock configuration of the lighting (replacement headlamp or lens for example)? Have you looked at the wiring bundle in the headlamp bucket for any visible damage or bodges of the wiring? Supose you could unplug the wires to the speedometer for a couple of days and re-check the fuse. If blown again the problem would likely be elsewhere in the circuit.

The bike is all stock, no upgrades or replacements anywhere. Thanks, we’ll definitely go through the wiring. Nothing visible, so we’ll take a deeper dive. Thank you!
