So my wife is going to get a TBA and debating about the 06 or 07 models. I have reseached the difference in the two and I know which one I would want. Being that it is her bike she is really leaning toward the 07 because of the color she wants.

Question:
Are the spoke wheels on the 06 tubeless ?

I would gather to guess the new alloy wheels on the 07 are tubeless.

My choice would be the 06 for two reasons. I like the spokes, and the dealers I talked to said that they will be discounting the 06 models, some as much as $1500.00 usd. I don't think the extra cc's is going to make that much of a difference because of the conservative way my wife rides.

The spoked America rims run tubes, whereas the '07 alloys SHOULD be tubeless.

The power difference probably wouldn't be all that noticeable between the two years.

If you really can get that much of a discount on an '06, it'd be a hard case NOT to buy that, that make for a heck of a deal.

Personally, I also dig the look of the spoked wheels on the '06 and I'm sorry to see them go.

I stopped by my dealer (SoCal Triumph, Brea, CA) last Saturday and they had the '06 America's at right around $7K. Sweeeet price. If I hadn't JUST bought my Bonneville and if I had the room, I would have ridden one home. :)

Bite the bullet and buy her the color she wants--much cheaper all the way around! :-D
