Greetings From The High Desert

Salutations everyone,

I'm shiny new to the forum...and to Triumphs. I've been riding for about five years now, but I just picked up a 99 Legend TT yesterday. I'm terribly excited about it, as I've always loved Triumphs, and the time was finally right to procure one. It needs a little work but, nothing serious.

I hail from the high desert in the strange and sometimes wonderful, mostly oppressively hot land of California. Right now is prime riding season, and I can't wait to get out on the open road with my new-to-me bike. I tend to lurk around forums when I join, preferring to read than to comment, but I promise I'll chime in now and again. I deal in antiques for a living and collect typewriters. I write in my free time and use my own collection of machines for this purpose as well.

Have a couple other bikes, as mentioned in my profile. I don't own a car, so I ride year round. I'm looking forward to a roadtrip and camping with my Triumph; Big Bear and PCH, here we come!

It's a pleasure to meet you all, and I can't wait to get to know you and your bikes!

Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up,
--MM

P.S. --I am blatantly, unabashedly and unapologetically weird. You have been warned.

Congrats on your 99 Legend TT! Cool on collecting typewriters. Many of them are really unique and fascinating.

Welcome to the forum!

Be sure to "lurk" in the Hinckley Classic Triple section for threads on your Legend (a beautiful motorcycle, BTW). There you will find the folks with the knowledge and experience on your Triumph.

"P.S. --I am blatantly, unabashedly and unapologetically weird. You have been warned." You will fit in just fine! Please join the banter when it suits you.

Cheers!

Thanks very much, guys! I'm certainly looking forward to getting out on the open road with 'er. Guess I need to do the photo-and-signature thing now!

Thanks Sean, it has now been bookmarked. I plan to spend quite a bit of time over there.

A quick note on typewriters: I know a surprising amount of riders who collect them. Transporting one (or more) on two wheels can be...interesting.
