Old "New Guy" or... New "Old Guy"

Okay, I was on here about 5 or 6 years ago, but for some reason didn't keep up. Anyway, I'm a TEX rider and also own a 1995 Super III (original owner). I like to do a little desert riding (okay, more like putting) on my super clean 2002 KTM 520, too. Not so fast, anymore (The older I get, the faster I was..:D) but still love to ride.

Do a lot of local rides here in Northwestern Oregon, and Southwestern Washington, pretty much whenever the weather permits. Just had a great ride this past Sunday (about 350 miles) with several of my friends, in balmy 72 degree (f) weather. Hard to believe it was still March and very early spring!

If you're around this area and like to ride your Triumph with other Triumph riders, get in touch!

Welcome to the forum!

You have a fine collection of motorcycles, Al! Original owner of a Super III? SWEET!

I love Oregon. I worked for a compnay based out of Hood River for the last several years. I would travel there for training and pre- and post-depolyment briefs. A few times I got to spend three months at a time there. Loved it! Portland is a very cool city, and the coast is gorgeous. I have a friend who lives in Manzanita. Definitely my favorite part of the country.

Welcome back and join in on the madness.

Cheers!

Thanks, Sean. Actually kind of hard for me to get my head around a "company based out of Hood River" big enough to deploy people. When I grew up there the population was 3500 (okay, it WAS in the '50's) and there were only a few big employers such as Apple orchards, cannery and Luhr Jensen (fishing lures). I'm sure there were others, but there were the 'biggies.' Went through HR last Sunday on our ride - beautiful little town, still, in spite of the influx of Windys (surfers, boarders, etc.)

Cheers!

Al

Yes sir, that town has become quite the destination for the water sports crowd!

To my happiness, it is also a center of craft beer, wine, and gastropubs. I left that company last year and I miss the trips there. I never did get to ride a motorcycle there, though. Wish I had. The trip up Mount Hood would have been cool!
