Hello all, good to be a part of the Triumph world now (2 days). Picked up a 2004 Daytona 9551 SSSA in Brisbane and rode it home over 2 days. Its an 1850km (1120mile) trip so the Daytona and I got to sort each other out real quick.

This bike had no fairs and needs a headlight and bracket to make it a Speed Triple type conversion so will be looking for help/advice on that.

Love the 955i motor and handling.

All the best to you all.

Welcome to the forum!

That sounds like an awesome first ride. Did you ride solo? I dream of a long solo trip like that someday again. The week after my first wife left me I ride from Germany into France and just rode around for a week. That was about 16 years ago. It was great therapy! I am ready for one of those again.

Cheers!

It was a good solo trip Sean but the most direct route from Brisbane to Melbourne and not a scenic one. Its mostly dry, flat country and straight roads. The bike was begging for corners though and yeah, al hell of a way to get to know a new )old) bike.....
