Greetings from the Mitten

Hello everyone,

New to the forum from Southeast Michigan, US but dropped by every now and then to view some inspiration from time to time. I'm new to motorcycles and my grandpa transferred the title of a '72 TR6R w/ about 5000 miles to me this past summer. Over the past few weekends I've been degreasing it as much as i can without removing the engine, it appears that it may have never been cleaned in 40+ years.

Growing up this bike spent a majority of it's time under wraps in the garage without a rider, I'd say a good 20+ years. I decided to take the class and get it back in running condition for a bike to learn on. My brother tried to do so the year prior to sell it but it still needed work and the grandfather was asking too much for it to be sold so here we are today. Needs a couple things to return it to it's former glory but I'll save that for another thread.

Thanks Sean. On the wrong side of the learning curve but I've got time and enough elbow grease to go around.

I always seem to be on the wrong side of the learning curve. I am quite comfortable there now.
