Hello,
I bought my 2006 Bonneville brand new in '06 from the local dealer but never joined this site. I've now got just a shave under 10k miles on the Trumpet and starting to kick around thoughts of a x-c road trip although I'm new to long-distance touring. Last year I made a 600 mile loop through the Adirondacks broken up by one night of camping in southern NY, this summer I'm thinking about a big New England loop as the next step before venturing out into the Rockies!
I go back and forth between gearing up the Bonnie versus buying a enduro-touring bike like the Tiger or the BMW. I keep coming back to gearing up the Bonnie.
On the wish list include:
Windshield
Panniers (H+B vs Givi), luggage
New mufflers
Accessory power off the fuse box for GPS/phone charger
Aftermarket marker lights made of metal
Dual filament marker lights?
I've found the newbonneville, bella-corse, and norman hyde sites, I'm sure there are others.
Any other knowledge and nuggets of wisdom folks are willing to share is definitely appreciated.
Thanks in advance, looking forward to future discussions and racking up some mileage this summer.
Dk
