new from oz

just like to introduce myself and my bikes, a couple of years ago i fell in love with and bought a green '96 900 trophy, after not owning a triumph since '79, this trophy completely erased all the uncomfortable yet distant fading memories i had during my early years of owning tigers, bonnevilles and trident, (it was never entirely the bikes faults, as an apprentice mechanic with honerable intentions you can do a lot of damage to a motorcycle ), back to the trophy, unbelievabe design, quality, performance and style, not to mention sound, by that i mean, the tears in brings to the eyes when the beast is given its head, and then i spotted a '97 900 trident advertised in my local area, its now parked next to the trophy, it must be one of the latest tridents as its got the sprint rear section, its also got rubber gaiters ?, not sure if this is standard or an option, this is where this site comes in handy, lots of reading to do, keep up the good work, alex

G'day and Welcome back to the world of Triumph.

Always great to see new Triumph members from Australia, I'm from S/W of Sydney myself.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum...

Welcome to the forum. I'm a newby myself and have found a lot of good info on the 1990 - 1999 model Trident's here (not sure about the gators being origninal though?). I just bought a 96 Trident 900 last month. Really nice bike, and I agree with you (so far) this bike has demonstrated a much nicer design, handling and ride than the older Triumphs I used to own...

You probably want to read up on the possible sprag gear and alternator issues...
