Hello also from Houston, Texas

Hey guys I'm looking for my first bike and I would love any advice y'all can give. And please for the love of God do NOT say a Ninja 250. I can not stand those bikes. I understand the need to have a good amount of power to learn on but not kill yourself but I just do not like the Japanese bikes. A Triumph dealer in the area recommended finding a used Adventurer, how do y'all feel about that? I have passed my course with all As.

If this is your First bike, as in "never ridden before," then I'd say the Adventurer is probably a bit heavy and tall. The Bonneville is probably a better choice, but you might really want to hold your nose and try an inexpensive used Honda or something for a few thousand miles. The chances of dropping your first bike are just way too high to learn on something as good-looking as an Adventurer or Bonnie.

Go over to the Biker Hang Out and do a search on "first bike." Much ink has been spilled on this topic.

Naturally, of course, you'll end up on a Triumph before too long, so welcome to the site!

I won't stop riding because you tell me about someone who died in an accident, just as I won't stop eating because someone died of e.coli.

Welcome! If you're looking to start on a Triumph, the Bonnie is the best option IMO.
