Just got my first Triumph after wanting one for years!

Hi all, just a quick introduction as I've just joined the site

I picked up a 2006 Speed Four yesterday with some money my grandfather left me after his passing (he wanted me to spend the money on something fun... so I did), as I've been wanting a Triumph since borrowing mate mates Sprint RS 955i several years back.... loved it!
It has a full service history, and low miles, and the engine seems to be running very nice. The overall condition is nice but not A1, as it has a few faults, and marks and scratches (that weren't mentioned in the description , but after driving 250 miles to collect it I wasn't going to leave empty handed, oh, and the price was good).
I've not ridden it yet (no road tax), but have noticed a major fault once I got it out the van when I got home. Where it had been strapped down, the strap had snapped the switch off the bottom of the ignition lock!. But enough of the bad news!

Anyway, I look forward to learning more and getting to know some of you!

Loaf.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather; my grandfather left me my first bike.

Congratulations on the Speed Four! And welcome to TriumphRAT!

I won't stop riding because you tell me about someone who died in an accident, just as I won't stop eating because someone died of e.coli.

Thanks for the welcome! I was going to take the S4 out for a run today, but woke to find a winter wonderland outside... damn you snow!

I guess I'll be in my garage ironing out a few issues and giving her a bit of a clean instead. Plus I've got a few parts to order for her...
