Hello from Florida

Hello, names Phil, born and raised in Florida and I have been used to building cars and now I want to try my hand out on a bikes.

I ended up finding a '65 Bonneville roller from a local guy and hope to have it at my house soon. I am pretty excited to start working on it.

Looking forward to your guys help and input.

Thanks,
Phil

Sounds cool, Phil; will this be a restoration, or a 'my imagination is the limit' build?

If you're new to bikes, you might want to stick to a pretty conventional job out of the gate. "This looks cool" and "this is unrideable" often go hand in hand in the two-wheeled world.

Welcome to TriumphRAT!

I won't stop riding because you tell me about someone who died in an accident, just as I won't stop eating because someone died of e.coli.

Welcome Phil! If you know your way around rods and customs, building a bike should be a no-brainer. Good luck!

Thank you for the welcome guys.

HiDesert - I think this is going to be a simple chop/bob but the roller does need quite a bit of work so I will take it down and work my way up. I find form and function over the "cool". I do know there is a middle ground but who wants to just look at a cool bike? I would rather ride one!

Catenaccio - I am hoping so. K.I.S.S. is the way I am going to go about this bike.

Phil
