Thumbs up Hi from Phoenix, AZ

Just joined, am looking for a Tiger for dual sport purposes. I currently have a 2005 KLR 650 to use with a local Meet-Up site called Arizona Adventure Rider Group (AARG).

Many of the members ride large bikes (BMW and KTMs), and the group picks rides that involve longer stretches on the slabs. October trip is to Copper Canyon in one week-which will set a fast pace.

My KLR 650 with its dirt tires picks up a lot of vibration, and is not pillion friendly, hence the search for a bigger ride. Looking for an older bike, likely a steamer 885. Prefer one with a known service history; cosmetics are secondary. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know.

I have previously owned several BMW GS models, and like the fact that Tigers are more affordable and lighter.

Welcome to the forum, Martin! Sounds like you have thought this out well. There are several members in Arizona. You can start by checking out the classifieds, but note that some criteria have to be met (time/# of posts/membership) before you can post in the classifieds.

Hope you find the Tiger you're looking for; I get the feeling the Rides and Reports forum would be the richer for it!

I won't stop riding because you tell me about someone who died in an accident, just as I won't stop eating because someone died of e.coli.

Welcome Martin! I love the looks of the steamers! There are some excellent examples of rebuilt steamers in the forums.
