Newbie to the 'Rat forum!

Hi all and a quick intro.

Based in the UK (but travel everywhere and lived in the US for a while) and live about a 2 mile stone throw from Stonehenge in the county of Wiltshire.

Just signed the papers on a new 2010 EFI Scrambler in Khaki green with a whole host of extras haggled into the deal. The recession does have it's benefits?

Previously owned a '98 Thunderbird Sport for 5 years from new (the short run model with twin upswept pipes on the RH side - the best one IMHO) but I never got on with the top heavy weight. Replaced this with a KLE500 much modified hack but have now seen the light

Outside of bikes sidelines include restoring a '66 ex-military 109" Land Rover (see sig - even the colour matches the new Scrambler!); shooting and 4x4's of course.

Work wise I am based in the pharmaceutical industry as an electrical/electronic eng. which is the reason for the travelling.

Hello all!

Welcome Paul! You can hit Stonehenge with a stone from two miles? You should be a pro baseball player in Japan or the US! Congrats on the Scrambler!

Welcome aboard Marlin.45. You are so fortunate to live by Stonehenge. My wife and I visited there a few years ago, and found it amazing to see. It would seem to be a great place to ride the Scrambler.

I was down that way riding my bike a couple of weeks ago, it was the first time back in over 10 yrs. Salisbury plain still looked as lovely as ever.

Welcome to the fold

I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you, itíll be with a knife.

Either that, or he's got on weird, heavily modified .45!

Welcome to the forum!

I won't stop riding because you tell me about someone who died in an accident, just as I won't stop eating because someone died of e.coli.

Awww....cummon it's our weird British phrasing...though the .45 does throw 330grn. hand cast at 1700fps

Don't know where Avon is in IN but I lived in Indy for 6 months back in '91/'92 so know the area quite well. Used to hunt just South of Shelbyville and my ex lives on the South side of 495.

The road past the Heel Stone at Henge is a great route when the sun comes down and sillouettes it in the Summer. A long straight with a sharp 30 degree kink which can catch you out as the sun goes down. This route is due to be shut in the next few years to improve the 'ammenity' of Stonehenge

A bit more activity here at the moment than then I should think? The Mercian regiment are on a 2 week excercise on the plain prior to operations in Afghanistan. Charlie boy was here a few days ago too. My house is being buzzed by Apache/Chinook/Lynx daily. Nightly it is parachute flares and mortars.....not that I mind....and a bit of excitement TBH

Mines called Emmy after my departed Gran who left me and my sister a small amount of money in her will. Sis bought garden furniture I bought something that will last a lot longer

Picking up a '67 Win 94 in .30-30 next week in exchange for a LR Discovery transfer case I had lying under a tarp. Good exchange meethinks!

It'll add to the Marlin collection of the .45 Cowboy and the .22 Mountie.

I just like lever actions I s'pose LOL
