So, this sucked.

Absolutely no oil left. It's all over the freeway or the back half of my bike.

No idea what caused it. I'm not leaning the bike over at all, and I was 25 miles of straight freeway riding into my commute.

Get it home and start to take off the oil pan. Got the dozen or so bolts out, and it is still stuck.

Do I absolutely have to remove the headers/exhaust? That is was appears to be getting in the way of dropping it all the way out.

New pan, new gasket, new oil. Anything else?

Just changed my oil 200 miles ago

I take that's what I need, "sump" and gasket?

Jeez, that's a bummer. hard to believe you didn't hear or feel anything to do that. Sure you didn't drop off the kerb of something?

Yes, you really need to drop the exhaust/headers and to do that you'll need to drop the radiator and to do that you'll need to drain the coolant etc.

Not as big a deal as it sounds and it'll give you way more work around room.

The big question is how long did it run without oil and how long after the low oil pressure light came on?

You'll have to change the sump ('pan' in the US), refill it with oil, put it all back together and see. Engines don't like being run without oil. Triumph triples (955/1050, 675/765)tend to spin the centre big end bearing first if run without oil. Do you feel lucky?
