UK Race Support VS. Dan Kyle VS a bad back.

Trying to find out if there is any difference between the linear links made by Dan Kyle, and the one made by UK Race Support. Common wisdom says that is the best solution for increasing the comfort of the rear on this bike, which I need to do for my messed up back. Anyone out there do this mod just for comfort sake? I have a 13R, weigh around 240, and went to a 135 spring in the rear to compensate, but after an hour of being pounded on our billiard table smooth NJ roads, my back feels like jello.

It depends on the design geometry of the linear linkage you are using. The KyleUsa linear linkage has a one inch longer dog-bone than stock and the side plates are different; it was designed for the Daytona for racetrack use. He recommended a 95 or 100 Nmm spring for an average weight rider (I used the 95 for my 170 lbs) with 30 mm total sag. I definitely had to go WAY softer for both compression and rebound damping (only 3 clicks of compression damping adjustment left) and this is still a firm and controlled ride which has never bottomed out, and the rear suspension is much more compliant over larger bumps. For a really plush ride (which I don't want cos I want high speed stability) I would have to get the Ohlins shock revalved.

-However if the linear linkage is a different design from another company then a different rate spring and damping might be required.

The link and plates from UKR came basically pre-assembled. They had new bolts, which were loosely tightened in place, and have directional arrows scribed inside them which are supposed to point forward according to the enclosed instructions. Pretty much fool proof, if you don't totally disassemble them when you do the install.
