Street Triple Shut down HELP!

Hey hive mind!

So I was riding my Street Triple RS and out of nowhere all the electronics shut down. Now when I turn the key only the LED lights and the tail light turn on. No screen, nothing. Tried to jump it and didn't work. Could really use some suggestions. Thanks!

Check your side stand switch. Be sure you're in neutral.

Did it die while you were riding it, or did it refuse to restart after a stop? My 675 had a somewhat similar issue that turned out to be the main connection to the gauges. However, from what I've read here in the past, it appears you may be the victim of a failed dashboard. Hopefully, you are still under warranty.

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean the whole world isn't out to get me.

I have heard of the dashboards failing, it happened to a guy on you tube I follow - with him it was a Tiger 800 but it had a very similar dash. I also hope it is still under warranty because apparently a new dash is around 900 pounds.

These new dashes do not breed much confidence... I'm not sure why the bike needs the dash working in order to run.

Neither am I, but based on my experience, it isn't completely new. My 675 would also cut out, or not start without every pin in the connector to the dash making solid contact. I imagine it has something to do with the ECU and dashboard communicating with each other.

I made a few calls to different dealers to figure out the potential problem. The odds are that it is the dash (one dealer was in the process of fixing the same problem), but of course there is no way of knowing till the motorcycle is checked over. The problem for me is that I am moving at the end of the month cross country (US), so I won't have to the time to get it fixed (In DC it's 3 weeks to have it looked at and 1 month to get a replacement part). So I guess I won't be doing my cross country motorcycle trip after all. On the bright side, it failed close to home instead of the middle of kansas so...

Figured I'd give an update. Turned out to not be as catastrophic. The kind folks at San Diego Triumph (really cant speak highly of them enough) looked it over and found that it was the ignition wiring that shorted if I remember correctly. So it looks like I will be getting my bike back Waaaaaaaaaay sooner that I though. So that's fun

Also, my bike was out of warranty but Triumph still honored the repair, so that's awesome too!
