Just adopted a Sprint GT

Last week I picked up a 2011 GT with 8800 miles that was being re-homed. I paid the re-homing fee and she jumped on the trailer. I took her home and showed her where she will sleep. The other bikes took to her immediately and they got along great. After she settled in I clipped her nails, gave her a bath and a new set of booties for running on the hot asphalt. She loves them! .She is a very fast runner. Smooth and athletic. Quite a difference from the 04 ST.
I am extremely happy to have adopted her into the family.

She's also a major looker!
I still yearn for the turbine smooth power my Sprint ST had but I know, at 70, I couldn't handle the riding position.
Give 'er a little flog for me? Thanks!

Thumbs up Congrats BritRider

Hi mate

that's a nice looking GT, a decision I think you will be even more happy about the more you ride it!

Nice one BritRider

Thanks Dave. Actually your posts about the GT was one of the factors that pushed me to it. Back in 2011 I test rode one and realized that it would eventually be the replacement for my ST when she dies. Well my ST has just over 90,000 miles and still runs just as good as the day I brought her home. I can never get rid of the ST. She is a fantastic bike. The GT is just more refined in every way. I’ve had a Craigslist alert set up for about 3 years for a GT within 200 miles of me. Occasionally one would pop up, just never “the one”. I really had given up. This one popped up, I immediately put a couple of Stella scooters I had for sale. I got really lucky and sold them in a couple days. I then made a bee line to get this bike.
I am pretty sure this one will end up getting me some speeding tickets. It seriously is so much smoother than my 04 that it is hard not to speed.

DaveM is a bad influence, I can attest to that one.
Maybe we need some It's All DaveM'S FAULT t-shirts made up?

I just switched from an '03 ST with 91K to a '11 GT with only 4K too. I found the refinement difference is striking as well. But that could be the difference of suspension that hasn't seen nearly 100 thousand miles.

One thing I do miss is the sound of my '03 ST with the Triumph sport can on it. I never understood why people change out exhausts until now. Of course, I'm way too cheap to do that just for a different note out the back end.

Gravity,
Big weight savings, too, with a Remus or Trident canister.
Forget being cheap, we only go around once (as far as I know).

Even though I posted the photo I'm sure it was DaveM's idea.
