Ok so I did my track day a couple weeks ago on the Sprint ST. I was waiting to post anything about it until after I got my photographs in so I could upload them to my photo album. Well the photos came in today, but the photo album is still down so I can't post them yet :-( Talk about a blast though, the first half of the day it rained so the riding was kinda slow but by noon the rain stopped. Unfortunately, a few people were under the impression that once the rain stopped, the track would magically dry up, well to their dismay, they discovered the hard way it doesn't work like that. Immediately after the rain stopped and group 3/4 went on the track, someone went for an agricultural ride in the grass/mud at turn 6. They announced the spill over the PA system and shortly lately they let group 2 out, minutes later they announced yet another agricultural tour into the mud at turn 6... Group 1 went out and.. well, i think nothing since i was in group 1 and there were no yellow or red flags out... So group 3/4 goes out again and bam, another scenic ride into the mud at, you guessed it, turn 6... After that one, they just gave a polite warning to all riders about turn 6 and put up cones out there to help them point their entrance and exit lanes. hehe Pretty funny since they kept warning us about turn 11 (I mistakenly said turn 12 in the last thread, but it was turn 11, the guy told us wrong initially... hehe) and then everyone crashes at turn 6 instead. hehe
So the photographs, there was a professional photographer out there taking pics out by the horseshoe turn (10), but for some reason he only took pics of the first 3 sessions and none of the last 3 sessions where my riding and leaning really got down low
my last run of the day i had an instructor behind me and he said if i had slid my butt half off the seat like i was supposed to, i could've gotten another 1 inch in my lean and i would have scrapped my foot pegs around the corners :-D I probably could've scrapped my knee pucks if I had worn them, but since i didn't, i didn't stick my leg out there so I wouldn't take the chance of damaging my new leathers. hehe
I guess when the photo album comes back up, I'll put my pics up there.
I must say though, that sprint handles well in the turns, I was doing well against the supersports on the corners, but they really kicked my arse in the straight aways... I think I need a Daytona 675 now. LOL
